The first question we are asked is almost always how much it costs. The honest answer is that it depends, but not in an evasive sense: a helicopter flight is not an off-the-shelf product, and the price is built from a number of clear factors. Once you know them, planning a flight that fits your budget becomes far easier.
1. Flight duration
This is the most significant factor. Helicopter pricing is based primarily on flight time, so a half-hour tour along the coast and a ninety-minute flight to the Dead Sea sit at entirely different points. If the budget is limited, shortening the route is the simplest way to adjust the flight.
2. Helicopter type and number of passengers
Helicopters differ in size, fuel consumption and operating cost, so a small helicopter suited to a couple costs less than a larger one. Worth remembering: the price is per flight, not per person. The more passengers, the lower the cost per person, and a flight for six is usually far better value than a flight for two.
3. The route and departure point
The further the destination from the departure point, the longer the flight time. Pickup from a distant point also adds the helicopter's flying time to reach you. Departing from a central point is therefore usually the more economical choice, and a circular route returning to the same point is more efficient than a one-way flight.
4. Landings en route and permits
Landing near a hotel, winery or particular site is possible in most cases, but requires coordination and landing permits. An added landing affects both the total duration of the activity and the advance coordination required, so each additional stop raises the cost accordingly.
5. Extras and production
Proposal and event flights sometimes include additional elements: a photographer waiting at the landing point, a sign on the ground, champagne, or special coordination of timing and music. These are not part of the flight itself, and you can choose exactly what is included and what is not.
6. When you fly
Sunset hours are in particular demand and therefore need earlier booking. The season also affects availability. Being flexible with times and dates widens the options and makes it easier to find a suitable window.
The quickest way to get an accurate price is simply to tell us what you have in mind: how many of you, where you would like to fly and for how long. We will come back with a clear quote and no small print. Please note that flights must be booked at least three days in advance, and that flights depend on weather and security conditions.
